Hague Convention Accreditation
Adoption by Shepherd Care initially received Hague accreditation in April 2008. The Hague Convention is an international treaty created to ensure that intercountry adoptions are in the best interests of children and to prevent abduction, exploitation, sale, or trafficking of children. Hague Accreditation ensures that agencies are in compliance with The Hague Convention standards. Hague Accreditation attests that Shepherd Care Ministries, dba Adoption by Shepherd Care is in substantial compliance with the Hague Convention Accreditation Standards. Shepherd Care Ministries, dba Adoption by Shepherd Care’s Hague Accreditation Expiration Date is August 15, 2016

Council on Accreditation
Adoption by Shepherd Care received accreditation from The Council on Accreditation in April 2009. COA’s mission is to partner with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes developing, applying, promoting accreditation standards. COA views accreditation as a catalyst for change that builds on an organization's strengths and helps it achieve better results in all areas. The accreditation process is designed to meet the needs of diverse organizations. An organization is evaluated against best-practice standards, which are developed using a consensus model with input from a wide range of service providers, funders, experts, policymakers and consumers. |

Joint Council
Adoption by Shepherd Care has been a member of the Joint Council on International Children’s Services since January 2009. JCICS recognizes there are over 143 million orphans in the world that live in crisis everyday without the support, happiness, heritage or love of a family. It is the mission of JCICS to advocate and protect the right of every child to a safe, permanent and loving family. |

National Council for Adoption
Adoption by Shepherd Care has been a member of the National Council for Adoption since September 2004. NCFA was founded in 1980 as an adoption advocacy nonprofit organization. NCFA’s mission is to promote a culture of adoption through education, research, and legislative action. |

Florida Adoption Council
Adoption by Shepherd Care has been a member agency since 2001. The Florida Adoption Council is a not for profit association of adoption professionals, including attorneys, agencies, and social workers. FAC is dedicated to furthering and improving the adoption process within the state of Florida. The FAC strives to provide information on interstate adoption, surrogacy, step-parent adoption and relative adoptions. Members of FAC are heavily involved in adoption legislation and spend time lobbying for better adoption laws. |
